EXHIBITION SMALT ART VÍTKOVICE 2011 OUTSIDE OSTRAVA CITY HALL

1. 7. - 24. 11. 2011

As in previous years, the square outside Ostrava’s City Hall is hosting a unique exhibition of large-scale enamel artworks created at the symposium. The display lasts from June to the end of November.
Enamel is a material created by heating a type of powdered glass to create a smooth, shiny protective coating on metal surfaces. It is highly durable and resistant to weathering, and despite its brittleness it can last hundreds of years without losing its colour. Thanks to these properties, enamel artworks can be displayed outdoors, making them more accessible to the general public.
